Definition

An Identifier is a value used to refer to a subject with Identity or to a correlation subject and distinguish it from others. An Identifier may represent Identity, but it is not itself the meaning by which the subject remains the same over time.

In simplemodeling-lib, org.goldenport.datatype.Identifier is a Runtime Data Type with a String value. ObjectId wraps an Identifier, while UniversalId provides an operational identifier with a canonical string format. The upper-layer Model and usage context determine which Identity an Identifier represents.
